New meter installation can cause water discoloration
Some residents have reported dirty water after their new digital water meters were installed. When a new meter is installed, the township recommends customers first run water from an outside spigot or a lower level faucet to avoid the dirt coming out of main fixtures, if possible.
In any event, running water for about 15 minutes should clear the water.
One customer recommended checking outside faucets and possible running toilets following the installation, as well.

Sewage Exploration May Lead to Leakage
The township received exorbitant water bills during the months of March through May. Because of this, a contractor has been hired for exploration of the sewage system for possible leaks. During the exploration period, water and sewer customers may experience gases, fumes, splatters and leaks from the sewer system through all sewage openings. It is recommended for water and sewage customers to cover their drains and close toilets during the project to prevent sewage from leaking or splattering from drains.
