Boil Advisory Due to a Waterline Break

Posted March 5, 2022

Due to a Adams Township waterline break late Friday night that supplies Portage Township. There has been a boil advisory for human consumption issued by the Western Upper Peninsula Health Department for Dodgeville, Hurontown, Naumkeg Shores, Dakota Heights, the M-26 Corridor and Green Acres Road residents.

This is purely precautionary; the water has been sampled and has been conveyed to a lab for testing. Once a negative test for coliform bacteria is gotten back from the lab; the Health Department will lift the boil advisory. The Health Department will make a public announcement to that affect.

The water quality test findings should be available Sunday or at the latest Monday morning. The Township will also post an announcement on this web site once the boil advisory is lifted.
